As we continue hitting our vaccination targets and lifting restrictions, we wanted to reflect on how the events of 2021 have reshaped our leasing services. This latest Think Property & Co blog unpacks the changes we are implementing to make leasing #BetterForEveryone.

At TP&Co, we know all too well that tenants consider their rental home their own, and an effort to make the leasing experience mutually beneficial goes a long way. According to the Commissioner for Residential Tenancies, as of February 2021 there has been a 6.6% increase in active long-term (over 5 years) tenancies across Victoria. COVID-19 has certainly impacted the way people engage with their surroundings, with more people looking for stability amidst unprecedented changes.

We’ve made small changes to the way we lease our properties.

We noticed prospective tenants preferred to attend mid-week inspections. This trend can be attributed to most people working from home, and dedicating weekends to catching up with loved ones. Our property management team works closely with landlords to offer more inspection times during the week, catering to a full scope of tenants so we can match our properties to the right person. Don’t see a suitable time? Do not hesitate to reach out to our friendly team if a listing catches your eye. We’d be happy to find a solution!

As always, we do our best to ensure the process is as smooth and flexible as possible. While restrictions on property inspections have lifted, we continue to offer leasing sight-unseen via Zoom walk-throughs, substantial images and floorplans. While not suitable for everyone, there are still a number of clients who prefer this method, and TP&Co are more than happy to accommodate. We have learnt a lot through operating remotely, and are confident in the technological tools and innovation at our disposal.
